Transparency matters. Here's how we make money and why you can still trust our recommendations.

How Affiliate Links Work

Some of the links on Grit Gear Guide are affiliate links. That means when you click one and buy something, we earn a small commission from the retailer — at no extra cost to you. The price you pay is exactly the same whether you use our link or go directly to the store.

Does This Affect Our Reviews?

No. Full stop.

We recommend gear based on real-world testing and honest evaluation. If a product is garbage, we'll tell you it's garbage — even if it has a higher commission rate. Our reputation is worth more than a few extra bucks from recommending junk you'll return in a week.

We've recommended products with lower commissions over products with higher commissions many times, simply because the cheaper option was genuinely better for working tradesmen.

Amazon Associates

As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases. Grit Gear Guide is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.

Why We're Telling You This

Because the FTC requires it, and because it's the right thing to do. You deserve to know how the sites you read make their money. We'd rather be upfront about it than pretend we're doing this purely out of the goodness of our hearts. We love gear, we love helping fellow tradesmen buy smart — and the affiliate income lets us keep doing it.
